Oz fans and film buffs were thrilled when Warner Home Video announced the 70th anniversary Blu Ray set. The Wizard of Oz with all it’s dazzling colors and scenes is movie well suited to the new home viewing medium. We all waited with baited breath until the first images of the Ultimate Collector’s Edition was released. But there were some that were dismayed Oz was only available on Blu Ray via collector’s set. Just before the September 29 release date news leaked of an Emerald Edition Target exclusive and a single disc WalMart edition. The Ultimate Collector’s Editions were offered with exclusive collectibles from Amazon and Best Buy. All of these releases created some initial confusion. Now that the dust has settled I’ve managed to sort the different editions out. What follows is a complete listing of the United States 70th anniversary Oz Blu-Ray and DVD releases and some photos of foreign editions just for fun.
