Great Smoky Mountains Railroad Announces Magical Journey
on THE WIZARD OF OZ™ Train Ride This Summer

Consumer Products, Rail Events Inc., and the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad are proud to announce the debut of THE WIZARD OF OZ™ Train Ride beginning July 14! Licensed by the same team that brought you THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride, the 2-1/2 hour roundtrip journey will retell the story of the beloved movie, The Wizard of Oz, on board a real train. The journey begins in Munchkinland where DOROTHY™ meets GLINDA THE GOOD WITCH™, who suggests she take a train that follows the YELLOW BRICK ROAD™ to see if the WIZARD OF OZ™ could help her find a way back to Kansas. Guests will board the train with Dorothy and several of her special friends as they travel down the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City.
Along the way, you’ll enjoy refreshments and live onboard entertainment featuring Dorothy, SCARECROW™, TIN MAN™, and COWARDLY LION™ set to the sounds of the motion picture. Help them defeat the WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST™ before arriving at the Emerald City and experiencing the thrill of meeting THE GREAT AND POWERFUL OZ™ himself during a live stage show. You’ll then return to Munchkinland with the characters on board the train and available for photos. Children will receive a special gift for helping Dorothy on her unforgettable journey!

Great Smoky Mountain Railroad will have the Wizard of Oz Train event for the next two years. In addition to the souvenirs on the train ride they will be selling licensed Wizard of Oz merchandise.
