Vote for Wizard of Oz Legos!!!

The Wizard of Oz with it's whimsical characters and fanciful locales seems tailor made for Lego.  For the past few years, Oz fans have been fortunate to add pieces to their collections from esteemed companies such as Lionel, R. John Wright, Steiff, Jim Shore, and Thomas Kinkade.  Now we may be closer to adding Lego to that roster.

Lego has been a childhood staple since 1934 and there have been many successful licensed partnerships including Batman, Superman, Cars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the CaribbeanStar Wars, and Toy Story to name a few.  It's surprising and disappointing The Wizard of Oz has been neglected by Lego for so long.

Certainly, we'd see Wizard of Oz Lego sets after The Wizard of Oz Miniland debuted at the LEGOLAND Discover Center last year.

But nothing's happened...............yet........

Oz is clearly a favored subject for Lego enthusiasts.  A 'Wizard of Oz Lego' Google search will turn up a number of customized characters and sets.  A stunning example won the 2013 Collaborative Display Award at Brickworld Chicago.  Twelve builders from three different countries put their talents into this remarkable 10 foot long work which includes a spinning tornado.

An effort is underway now to bring Wizard of Oz Lego sets to fruition.  JeremiahKC built a beautiful companion piece to the Wizard of Oz Miniland display called The Road to Oz.  The Road to Oz needs 10,000 votes to be considered for production by Lego.

As you can see, the Gale Farm, Munchkinland, Emerald City,  and the Witch's castle would all make awesome Lego sets.  Lego and Oz collectors would be thrilled and it would give children hours and hours of creative Oz play.

Please vote and show Lego WE WANT THE WIZARD OF OZ!!!!!!
