Souvenirs from Land of Oz North Carolina!!!
The Land of Oz was a wonderful theme park located in picturesque Beech Mt., North Carolina from 1970 to 1980. It brought the land of Oz literally to life and is a beloved childhood memory for those that experienced it during it's original heyday. It was closed for many years but is privately owned and now hosts private tours and events such as Journey With Dorothy and Autumn at Oz. The original park, sadly, fell into disrepair, but restoring it to it's former glory and more is a true labor of love that deserves our support. It's attractions like this that make Oz endure for the young and young at heart.
The original park souvenirs are highly sought after collectibles for both Wizard of Oz fans and collectors of theme park memorabilia. Now new items are produced for fans to take some of their park experience home to cherish forever. Fortunately, for those unable to travel, the Land of Oz is offering their memorabilia online.

Wizard of Oz Chrome Toto Statue by Factory Entertainment
To all the Toto fans that ordered back in July.........was that wait torture or what?? Covid and customs rush for no man. This was a dismally slow year for Wizard of Oz collecting anyway so it was a HUGE thrill to see an Oz offering from Factory Entertainment via their Consolation Con, so named on account of the cancellation of San Diego Comic Con. That aside, good things do come to those who wait!
The patience was worth it!! This stylized version of Toto is adorable!! Major kudos to the designer and sculptor of this piece. Such a darling, refreshing take on Toto!! I'm a huge Toto fan so I'm very particular and my heart just melted when I removed him from the box. How can you not love the expression on his little face? I imagine him as a puppy seeing Dorothy for the first time. This charming little guy is resin with a beautiful goldish brown chrome finish. He is packaged in a nice Toto-centric box. Measurements are shown in photos below. Not too big nor too small; he is displayable anywhere!
He was limited to 250 pieces and he sold out in October.
Toto is part of Factory Entertainment's new collectible statute line. What an honor for a beloved Oz character to help launch a new collectible line. The other two chrome statues to kick off the line were The Candidate from the film They Live and the ever iconic Beatles Yellow Submarine.
Factory Entertainement knocked it out of the park with their first Wizard of Oz release!! I couldn't help but notice that Wizard of Oz is listed under their brands on Factoryent.com so I hope we'll be seeing much more Wizard of Oz for 2021!!!

Wizard of Oz Christmas Sweater from Numskull!!!!!
WOW!! This was literally a dream come true!! For years, I've wanted a Wizard of Oz Christmas sweater ugly or otherwise, and Numskull finally delivered!! I simply can't say how THRILLED I am!!
One can hardly call this sweater "ugly" in any sense of the word. It is really gorgeous work in design and execution! It is one of the nicer clothing items produced since the Warner Brothers Studio Store clothing in 1997\1998. Also quite the relief to have something offered besides a t-shirt. This sweater is 100% knitted with high quality soft yarn. The wreath is real applique' and the other designs are interwoven into the yarn. This is not cheap printed on junk!! I love how this sweater is holiday centric with Christmas motifs of holly, poinsettias, snow flakes, a wreath and Toto too!! It is distributed exclusively through Geek Store. Available in a wide variety of sizes. I found mine to be a little big and I love this sweater so much I may order another smaller one.
If you are into pop culture, check out Numskulls other Christmas sweaters. There's something for everyone! I hope they expand Oz into their other lines and do more sweaters! I'd love an every day sweater, more Christmas, and Halloween for sure!!!

Build A Bear Wicked Witch of the West
This was a fun Halloween surprise!!!!!! Build a Bear introduced the beloved Wicked Witch of the West!!! Collectors that have acquired her so far absolutely LOVE her and she's very true to the photos on the website. She is an internet exclusive so save yourself a trip to the store. She is available in the United States and the United Kingdom. I love the detailing on her paws of the Wizard of Oz logo and portrait of the Wicked Witch of the West. I wish they had done the whole Oz collection with this kind of quality. Here's hoping they still will!!

Wizard of Oz Limited Edition Courage Medal by Ikon Design Studio
Ikon Design Studio follows up their very successful Ruby Slipper Replicas with the Cowardly Lion's Courage Medal. A screen accurate Courage Medal has been on many Oz collectors want lists for a VERY long time!! Edition size to be determined and expected ship date is the end of December. The medal measures about 4.72", around 7" with the ribbon and comes with a black felt display box. Collectors raved about the Ruby Slippers so I expect nothing less from the Courage Medal. The medal is very reasonably price at $50.44 from Popcultcha.com. The second edition Ruby Slippers are still available and you may want to check out Ikon's Wizard of Oz pins, puzzles, and drinkware as well.
